A five-man Lebanese parliamentary goodwill mission, headed by Nassim Majdalany, arrived in Taipei yesterday for a week long visit. Majdalany told the China Post Lebanon will vote against Peiping’s admission to the United Nations this year. Last year it voted for the resolution designating the Chinese representation issue as an “important matter” but abstained from voting on the Peiping admission resolution. Majdalany said Lebanon’s ambassador to Japan Toufic Awad will assume a concurrent post as ambassador to this country shortly. Members of the Lebanon Mission are Maurice Gemayel, Abdel Latif Zein, Bahije Kaddour, and Joseph Moghabghab. They were greeted upon arrival by Tsai Pa, director of the Foreign Ministry’s West Asian Affairs Department. | |||
